Men’s swimming defeats Binghamton

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The men’s swimming and diving team competed against Binghamton Saturday at the Riley Center where they defeated them with a score of 132-109.

                  Having a big day in the pool for the Bonnies was sophomore Yi Liu. He had first-place finishes in both the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard butterfly with times of 1:59.58 and 1:56.63, respectively.

                  Freshmen Ellias Homerin competed in the 1000-yard freestyle where he finished in second-place with a time of 10:07.82. In the 200-yard butterfly, Homerin finished in second place, clocking in at 2:01.66. He also had a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.17.

                  Juniors Chris Baker and Kevin Murphy also helped the Bonnies. Baker competed in the 200-yard freestyle and finished in second-place with a time of 1:45.16. He also had another second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 48.65.

                  Murphy finished in first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching in at 2:13.46.He also competed in the 200-yard IM where he finished in second-place with a time of 2:01.29.

                  Junior David Kundzik competed in the 50-yard freestyle where he notched a first-place finish with a time of 21.71.

                  In relay action, the 400-yard medley team of Murphy, Kundzik, Peter Koenig, and Mike Dansa, finished in first-place with a time of 3:33.19.

                  In the diving portion of the meet, freshmen Mike Murphy finished in first-place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive with scores of 291.00 and 273.53, respectively. Junior Trever Herzog finished in second place in both dives. He had scores of 247.95 in the 1-meter and 213.75 in the 3-meter.

The Bonnies take on Georgetown next Saturday at 1:00 pm at Georgetown.
